Aerial View of Antique Fair CrowdThe shoppers shopped, the weather cooperated, and the band played on and Oregon City’s 14th Annual Antique Fair was a success! In today’s less than ideal economy, there were many concerns about whether this annual event could survive in these tough times, however the Antique Fair proved its worth on Sunday, August 30th, as it welcomed crowds from Oregon City, the greater Portland Metro Area, and beyond.

Shoppers had many reasons to be excited as they explored over 95 vendor booths and enjoyed a packed food court. This year we also welcomed back Sandra Millius of Millius Estate Services, as she performed “for fun” antique appraisals and the bandEric Norby's Antique Tractor Rock Residue as they entertained shoppers and vendors with their unique 60’s and 70’s sounds. The crowds viewed two new additions to the fair, an Antique Fire Engine, courtesy of Clackamas Fire District #1 Volunteer Firefighters, and a restored Antique Tractor, owned by Eric Nordby of Access Systems, Inc.

Antique Fair Vendor BoothIn addition, visitors packed the Information Booth to purchase their Limited Edition Antique Fair charm to complete their “Charming Bracelets”. Even some vendors and out-of-towners were “charmed” and purchased a bracelet to begin their collections. These customers will surely return to Oregon City to visit the 25 local businesses offering charms, promoting the Chamber’s mission of creating a strong economy in Oregon City.

Another challenge for this year’s fair was the absence of Claire Met as the Chamber’s veteran Events Coordinator. However, with the help of an outstanding committee including Claire and the support of so many Chamber members, the staff was able to seamlessly continue this great tradition.

Claire and so many dedicated volunteers showed up in the wee hours of the morning to help block off streets and prepare for the big day ahead. The event truly would not be possible without the help of our outstanding volunteers who are willing to give up sleep to ensure the success of this community event.

Just as important as our volunteers, are the sponsors that helped to fund this event. Despite a rough economy, we had just as many sponsors as the previous year which is a true testament of the incredible support the Chamber receives from its businesses. Staff sincerely thanks all who helped to make this annual event possible. Please see the insert that individually recognizes these people. Though times are still tough, challenges were faced, the show did go on for its 14th successful year!
