Oregon City is "CHARMing"
Oregon City businesses are celebrating summer with great “charm”. Collectible charm bracelets, available in two styles, are just $5 and come with a “2009” charm attached. Unique charms that represent characteristics of each participating business can be purchased for $1. Look for “Oregon City is CHARMing” signs in the windows of 25 businesses and attractions beginning June 24 and enjoy the adventure of exploring just how charming Oregon City is.
Bracelets may be purchased from three “Jump-Off Points” – the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center at 1726 Washington St., the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce at 1201 Washington St. and Hand Crafted For You at 616 Main St. The charms will be available during the summer, while supplies last, but there are only 200 of each design.
The project has been spearheaded by Sheri O'Brien, an active member of the Oregon City Chamber, and owner of Hand Crafted For You. As a business owner on Main Street for six years she was eager to invest her time and energy into this unique project. Sheri states, “This is a great opportunity for a diverse group of businesses to work together and generate some excitement! Each charm is unique to the locations -- the Oregon City Farmers Market has a tractor and mine looks like a doll’s house”. The “Oregon City is CHARMing” charm bracelet is based on a successful model created by the Pendleton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Brochures are available that list
all the participants, the charms offered and a map. Those brochures may
be picked up at the “Jump-Off Points” and any participating businesses.
Go to any business that displays the “Oregon City is CHARMing” sign for
more information and to start your collection.
